Suggests that we are just injected with the ideas and information, meaning that we think what ever we see is true and that we dont think about the information we are given before we think about it.
Uses and Gratifications Theory -
Explains how use the media and what pleasures (Gratifications) we recieve from the media.
Tdorov (Narrative) -
Says that there are three parts to a narrative: Equilibrium, disruption and the resoulution.
Propp (Character Types) -
Says that there are different character types ... hero, villian, princess, donor, helper, etc.
Levi-Straus (Bianary Opposites) -
Says that narratives always feature conflicts between opposite forces - Good vs Evil.
Barthes (Enigmas) -
Says that all narratives involve enigmas (Puzzles). Also questions and enigmas are made to be solved by the audiences.
